As our customer, you have trusted us to help you protect your financial success and security through the insurance you purchase to protect your assets.  To maintain that trust, we are committed to protect the privacy and security of the personal information that we collect about our customers.  This notice is intended to help you understand how we collect, handle, and safeguard that information.

General Privacy Principles

We treat the personal information of our customers in a confidential manner.  We do not provide any information to unrelated companies for the purpose of marketing their products or services to our customers.

Information We Collect

Most of the personal information that we collect is obtained directly from our customers.  The types of information that we may collect include:

  • Information that is provided to us on an application or other forms, such as name, address, phone number, occupation, date of birth, social security number, mortgagee/loss payee name and address, previous insurance carrier and loss history.

  • Information that we receive from other sources such as consumer reporting agencies for credit reports and claims histories and government agencies such as a county recorder’s office.

  • Information about our customers’ transactions and history with us, such as payment and claims histories.

  • Information that we receive from your insurance agent, such as updated information pertinent to your account or information about your policies with other insurers.

Use and Disclosure of Information 

If necessary, we disclose information to administer business transactions with our customers or when disclosure is required by law.  An example might include a routine filing to the Internal Revenue Service (such as Form 1099) regarding a particular transaction.

  • Information may be disclosed to other entities with which we have contracted to provide business services such as independent claims adjusters, appraisers, or attorneys who would need the information to handle your claims. In this case, such entities are also under a specific contractual obligation to maintain the privacy of customer data.

  • We may also disclose certain information to other entities such as regulatory agencies or to law enforcement agencies; for example, to help us report or prevent fraud.

  • We may also share information with your insurance agent to allow for servicing of your policy.

  • Information may also be shared with our affiliated companies.

Security of Your Information

We have established policies to maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to maintain the confidentiality of the personal information of our customers.  Appropriate measures are taken to ensure that access is available only to those individuals who need to know that information in order to provide our products or services.
